Salute to The Ultimate Maestro

December 1989 in Sialkot, Pakistan. Fourth test match of the India - Pakistan series. A 16 year old boy made his test debut against Pakistan at Karachi. It was the fourth test of his career. India were reduced to 38 for 4 in their second innings. The short, shy 16 year old came out to face Waqar Younis. A brutal Bouncer from Waqar Younis hit him and gave him a bloody face. Pakis shouted “ Hey Kid, go home and have some milk”. And what he did. A fine square cut sent the very next delivery to the ropes (He went on to score 57 and save the match for India). Opposition captain Imran Khan later said the very moment he knew that the man who would rule the cricket world has just arrived.

And yes, he did just that for the next 19 years. He is Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar, our Cricketing God. He carries the burden of expectation of a billion people, moves a nation with his strokes and continue to score runs like a machine. As he himself said, that he turned all the stones pelted at him into milestones. Hats off to you, Sir.

Forget about his cricketing abilities and technicalities, there are the experts to comment on that. All these years he carried himself like a true gentleman, a dignified personality and a perfect teamman even after becoming a cricketing legend. Success has never got over his head. Not one single incriminating incident, not one drunken escapade, not one reported affair, not one spat with a team-mate or reporter. An inspiration for people from all walks of life.

We are really thankful to god that this man walked on this earth during our lifetime. It’s a privilege to be born during the life and times of Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar.

We love you Sir for everything you do and we wish, you go on creating many more memorable chapters in your life.
